The stadium, along with several of the council’s other leisure and cultural venues, will be shut from Friday for an initial three month period, but the decision will be reviwed as the situation develops, the council said.
The move is an added complication to the possible resumption of both FC Halifax Town and Halifax RLFC’s seasons, with the National League and the RFL suspending all games until April 3.
