All elements come together
Themed around the four elements – earth, water, air and fire – this year’s festival invites visitors to pull on their sensible shoes and explore the village.
They can discover ‘Living Rooms’ in unexpected places, visit local artists and makers and take part in the new Mytholmroyd Arts Activity Trail which will be launched on Sunday October 16 with a series of drop-in workshops along the route. This will be an ongoing legacy from the 2016 festival.

Participants will be encouraged to share photos of their work in an online gallery.
Annie Harrison, the festival’s Artistic Director, explains: “We’re celebrating our fantastic community and the glorious setting in which we live and work. The Trail encourages everyone to enjoy the great outdoors and to have fun exploring their own creativity. We are delighted that it will be available throughout the year.”
The final event of the Festival features a varied selection of elements - themed music culminating in a premiere performance by ‘The Project’, a collaboration between music-makers and wordsmiths of all ages. For more on the Schools’ Exhibition, Saturday night market and fire show go to the website.
